A New Adventure of Sorts

For years, a number of people have encouraged me to write a non-fiction book that captures aspects of my life and learnings, my philosophies and reflections about the adventure of, well, living. Though I'm still very much struggling with what feels like arrogant self-absorption in doing so, I have decided to make a beginning on such a work. Eventually, who knows? Maybe a book worth publishing will result. The structure of the work is such that it is complete at any one point, in that I'll not begin a 'reflection' on any particular subject without completing it before posting. So it is, and isn't, a work in progress in that there are no cliffhangers and the only suspence may be in wondering what I may write about next. And you, should you wish to do so, could have influence on that by suggesting topics that you'd be interested in seeing me address. I make no particular claims about having special wisdom or knowledge of ultimate truths. This is simply my story, my perspectives about going about living an essentially joyful life, and about what I've learned on such subjects as leadership, courage, love, pain, death, loss, relationships, spirituality, values and ethics, commitment, creating a better future than the one we have and ... well, lots of things. Along the way, I'll no doubt share anecdotes about my world travels, my career, about leadership coaching, about writing and, well, my life.

If you're interested in seeing what I'm writing, you can find the introduction and, eventually, subsequent entries in my new journal, http://marilynhay.livejournal.com/ which I have just created as a place to post these 'reflections on life and the miracle of being'.

Well, if you check it out, I sure hope you find it interesting. Like I say, it's an experiment of sorts. Might be fascinating ... might be a total bust. ::grins::

I'm sure I will find it both interesting and fascinating. I doubt it will be the latter one you mentioned!
I hope it turns out how you want it and you get published too.
Just remember us peasants when you are famous!

Well, I have, of course, immediately gone and friended you over there so I can keep an eye on what you say. Because you always have something to say that's worth reading and pondering on.

And if I can manage to find the time to emerge from the depths of literature reviews and gallavanting around the country, I might even manage a comment or two! :-)

Thanks, Pythia, for your confidence in what I may eventually write! And I'd be very glad of any commentary you may have the time or inclination to offer as it goes along. Um, in case you haven't had a chance to read the intro, I should tell you that I have referred to you as my writing coach and first internet friend. If you're not okay with being named in the text, just let me know.

Honestly I can't wait to see what you're going to write. Tomorrow when I am awake enough to have a brain I am going to go through what is already posted but in the mean time I have friended your journal to keep track of the goings on.

I'm so glad you decided to go ahead with this project. I;ll be interested to see jpw you find life in the 'real world' as compared to fandom if you go into that. Back to third grade? And what a great way to get your ideas on leadership coaching out there.

I'm looking forward to what I know will be a fascinating and instructive read! I love it when a plan comes together!
