THE UNEXPECTED BLAIR SANDBURG

Finally, my 2010 Moonridge Story is being posted and, courtesy of Morgan at The Sentinel Big Bang and artists Lapetite Kiki and Helvetica, it has morphed into a Big Bang story! Feel free to let folks know where to find it.

Title: The Unexpected Blair Sandburg
Author: Arianna (Caarianna on LJ)
Artists: Lapetite Kiki and Helvetica
Genre: Slash, Angst, Case Story, and First Times
Word Count: 79,202
Warnings: Some language, some fairly graphic sex late in the story ….

Summary: The story is set immediately post series and explores the differences between perceptions, expectations, and reality. Has Jim ever really seen Blair as a man in his own right? Or for him, is Blair only the longhaired, hyperactive, perennial grad student tagalong who helped him with his senses?

Author’s Notes: There are so many people to thank: Morgan, for taking the initiative to have this TS Big Bang and for accepting my story as a late entry; Janet, for believing in me and encouraging me to write this story for Moonridge in return for a sizeable donation; Kiki, for volunteering to do the gorgeous artwork and for her gift of the icon; Helvetica, for allowing me to use the incomplete draft of the astonishing piece she’s doing for me for Moonridge; StarWatcher, for her support and beta; Rhianne, for hosting my stories on her lovely website; and PattRose who, at the last minute, helped me get the artwork posted with the story (I’m such an idiot when it comes to anything technical).

As for the story, it’s entirely from Jim’s POV, which was a challenge for me. All comments/feedback are welcome.

Go to Arianna's Aerie (arianna.hidden-muse.com) or her page on Archive of Our Own (archiveofourown.org/users/Arianna) to find the story

Link to Artwork: at Kiki’s LJ And Kiki made the neat icon, too!

LOL, gosh, I love being retired and, someday, you will, too! In the meantime, the story isn't going anywhere. ::hugs::

WOW! Just got to read this and the prose was absolutely beautiful - you can see the show playing out. Definitely among your best works. I see where the POV issues would be hard (knowing your take on the characters) but you managed to balance the scales between the two 'combatants' in the end. The ending was a surprise to me--and could easily lead to a sequel!

::cowers in fear of reaction::

Thanks for taking the time to write this after your break and RL struggles. It was so incredibly wonderful to meet you after all the years of our contact!

LOL, you're not the first person to ask for a sequel. ::grins:: I have none planned for this story (would have to get through the last Bitterwood Creek story, the last My Sentinel story and the next Wolf and the Jag story to follow on Never Saw Blue -- and you know that I'm not writing much these days. But I appreciate the encouragement!

And it was really great to meet you, too. Wish we had more time. I got to meet Merlin/Magician/Namaste this past weekend! It really is wonderful to get the chance to get together with people we know so well online!

Re: The Unexpected Blair Sandburg
Hey, thanks for letting me know. We had trouble with the website a while back and Rhianna had to rebuild. I've indicated in the message the two places where the fic can be found now.
