Christmas Wish List ...

Sure hope I did the lj cut thing right as this is a long post!

- Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered... whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

- If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.

- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post (it'll be public) so that the holiday joy will spread.

Step Two

- Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:

- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use -- or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free -- do it.

You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf -- to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not -- it's your call.

There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just... wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

And now ... my list (could be recycled items, not necessarily new!!).

1. A set of shelves for the garage and someone to unpack the boxes of books, CDs, VCR tapes, DVDs (because my back kills me when I try to do that much bending myself, and I'm hopeless at putting things like shelves together, and I find it really hard to ask for help, sigh.)

2. A clear glass pitcher

3. A blender

4. A fancy coffeemaker (expresso, cappaccino)

5. A set of fluffy towels (powder, slate or dusty blue)

6. A set of queensize sheets with pillow cases (pink, blue or lavender, floral or plain)

7. Calls from friends between Christmas and New Years, just to say 'hi' and 'I'm coming to visit ...'

8. A winning lotto ticket to pay off my debts (Yeah, yeah, so I'm a little old to still believe in Santa Claus, so sue me! LOL).

9. Someone who would help me get my book published as I haven't got a clue and am hopeless with details.

10. Dinner with Garett Maggart the next time I'm in L.A. (Look, I already admitted I still believe in Santa Claus, so don't roll your eyes and snort like that! Tis not nice! beg!) Alternatively, and perhaps more realistically, a touching h/c TS story that will make me sniffle.

1. I know it's a long way off, but if you still have those shelves when we come to visit, we'll get them up then.
7. Do we have your phone number?
10. I'll see what I can do. *grins* I wish. If I could, I'd set that up for both you and Jessie. Sadly, I don't think a couple of up close and personals gives me that kinda power with him....

Suzi, oh, wow, thanks! I suspect there's a good chance the boxes will be still be languishing in my garage when you guys come to visit in July. Hadn't planned on putting you to work, lol, but I sure appreciate the offer.

I've sent an email with my phone number.

And what I wouldn't give for a couple 'up close and personals' with the man, lol! Lucky you!

*laughs* sounds like us, hon. no worries, if they are there, we'll get you all settled.

We are traveling between christmas and new years, but we'll do our best.

Well, I don't know that they were amazing ones, but they were real and up close. I actually should have known that first time that I'd end up falling. Who can resist those eyes and that smile - I was just pretending not to, I think.

I cannot grant any of your wishes I am afraid but I do like your tenth wish. If there was anyway to make it happen for you I would, the only downside being you would have to invite me as a dinner guest too:-)!

LOL! I suppose #10 is a wish we all share!

Thanks for your good wishes, sweetie!

Hmm, I'm sure I could do number 7 -- call to say g'day. The coming to visit, well that might have to wait another year, unless I get number 8 on your list.

Merry Christmas.
((hugs you))
