Blair'd from Dolimir!

Dolimir found a fun 'past lives' site here: www.thebigview.com/pastlife/index.html

This is what the site told me ...

I don't know how you feel about it, but you were male in your last earthly incarnation. You were born somewhere in the territory of modern North of Latin America around the year 1850.

Your profession was that of a medic, surgeon or herbalist.

Your brief psychological profile in your past life:
You had the mind of a scientist, always seeking new explanations. Your environment often misunderstood you, but respected your knowledge.

The lesson that your last past life brought to your present incarnation:
Your lesson is to study, to practice and to use the wisdom that lies within the psychological sciences and in ancient manuscripts. With strong faith and hard work you will reach your real destiny in your present life.

Do you remember now?

Well, I don't know about reaching my real destiny in this present life, but it's true that I worked in psychiatry for a time, and I'm interested in 'ancient wisdom'. I think I've been too lazy, though, to master much of anything; more of a jack of a lot of trades but master of none! ;)

I wish I could remember where I found the icon so I could give credit where it's due. If you recognize it as yours, claim it in the comments!

My brother Jim once went to a psychic, who told him that he and another brother and a sister had been connected in a past life in Ireland. Jim was the oldest legitimate son of a chieftan, but Joe, (who is several years younger than Jim) had been a bastard son of their father and was older. Even though Joe wasn't a direct heir, he protected Jim, was something of a warrior. Jim said that he'd always felt that his and Joe's birth order was off, that Joe was actually the older brother.

Molly, our sister, had been a man in the same time period as them, although I forget exactly how she was connected to them. But the psychic said that their souls were bound to each other and that's why they'd been reborn into the same family

Molly has always been adventurous, she's been a sailor both on tugs and freighters and wooden ships. She crewed on a whale research expedition in the waters around Greenland. She walked the Appalachian trail by herself and had adventures with bears.

Jim said that he didn't talk about his family, that he walked in cold for a reading, and that the pyschic had no way of knowing that he came from a large family, with a good bit of our heritage Irish. Molly, Joe, and Jim all have red hair (three more of my siblings do, too), and they all look like they could have stepped right off the boat from Ireland. Joe picked up a nickname when he worked at a warehouse unloading stock of "The Big Mick".

I thought it was very interesting.

Laurie, I don't know about this website, but I do believe we've lived past lives, some a lot, some only a few, and that souls travel together for mutual support, learning and out of love.

I once heard the theory that there were more people alive now than had ever lived if all added together, and that was because all the souls were coming back now, because our era poses fundamental questions and opportunities for soul learning and growth.

I've met people who I've instantly recognized, who have recognized me, and we've been soooooo glad to finally catch up with one another again ... only to discover that we'd never met before, at least not in this life.

It's this belief system that's at the root of my reincarnation series of Jim and Blair being together through various periods of history and even into the future.

I do believe that if there is anything after death, it's reincarnation. But -

I went to this site, and my 'diagnosis' was 'you were female in your last earthly incarnation. You were born somewhere in the territory of modern Arctic around the year 1650.
Your profession was that of a warrior, hunter, fisherman or executor of sacrifices.'

My immediate reaction was 'A woman in 16th century Arctic territory being a warrior? I wouldn't have thought so! Or even a hunter or fisherman. I think the Arctic communities had a pretty well defined belief in what were male or female occupations, and those are male occupations!'

Now I was born ten days early, so from curiosity, I changed the date by ten days; the result was the same except the place of birth was northern Korea. And I still have that possibly cynical feeling that a woman in 17th century anywhere is highly unlikely to have been a warrior.

An 'executor of sacrifices'? If by that it meant something like a shaman, well, that'd be more likely. It would certainly fit better with 'The lesson that your last past life brought to your present incarnation:
You should develop your talent for love, happiness and enthusiasm and you should distribute these feelings to all people.' Except that in this incarnation, I don't think I do have a talent for love, happiness or enthusiasm. If I ever had it, I lost much of it growing up in the 1940s. Oh, I'm not unhappy and I value the friends I have - including online friends that I've never met, or only met once or twice - but basically I'm an introvert, and it seems to me that anyone with a talent for distributing love, happiness and enthusiasm would have to be an extrovert.
