Help! I have no idea why or how, but the font on my gmail and every other firefox page has shrunk to the point where I need a magnifying glass. HOW DO I FIX THIS?

If you go to your FF settings, one of the tabs will allow you to set the font size (might be 'general' - dont have access to my laptop at the moment). If that doesn't work and you are using a laptop, I'm guessing you shrank the font size through the touchpad, and apart from using your fingers tuo make it bigger, I don't know what to suggest.

Hey, Suzanne, great to 'see' you! ::waves:: I'm so sorry we couldn't get together before I left for the summer. I'm looking forward to connecting next fall/winter. The invite to come out to the desert still stands!

Not sure how I did it but apparently holding control key and hitting the + increases the size of the font. Have to do each page at a time, but I'm hoping it will hold when I exit and return. I'm not entirely sure how to find the FF settings because there doesn't seem to be anything on my headings panels to get me there. Thanks for the suggestion, though. I'll continue to try to figure this out. I'm fairly new to firefox so it will take me a while, I guess, to figure it out.

Yes, Ctrl + will increase font size on pages, and Ctrl - will decrease if you go too far. And it should "remember" your setting the next time you come back to the page. (This now also works on IE, and maybe Chrome. It's so useful that any browser that doesn't do it won't attract users.)

As for why... FF probably did a sneaky update when you weren't looking. An update took away my top tool bar a couple of weeks ago, but I managed to get it back. (No idea how, but I continually wonder why they always "improve" things to make them worse.)

Well, if you don't understand it, you can imagine how lost I am by the technology. ::shakes head:: I feel as if I'm getting left further and further behind. I have two less tool bars with FF and I really miss them but IE was becoming impossible, always freezing, shutting down, and so abysmally slow I finally gave up.

I've been home just over a week and am hitting the road again on Thurs with family, just as a passenger this time, for a family wedding on the east coast. Weather is so variable that I still don't know whether to take a cool weather long dress and jacket or my more summery version. Spring is having trouble getting started here this year!

Maybe this page may help you out?

Scroll down the page to font dialog to see if this would be any help

Brilliant! I'm going to bookmark that page for future reference and study! For now, holding control and pushing the + increased fonts on one screen at a time. Thanks for the help!

\o/ I'll have to remember that little trick.

I use control + to increase font size too, but I found that setting my minimum font saved me changing lots of pages as they usually automatically open up now at a fairly decent font. Some are still too small, which makes me wonder how tiny they'd be without my minimum setting.

Click on 'tools' (at the top of your firefox window), then 'options'. You'll get a pop up box, so choose the 'content' tab and click on the 'advanced' setting for your fonts. You can pick a specific font as well as size, and it still lets you use control + or - if the writing is too small or too big.

Hope that helps!
